Beige actually suits my colouring, lol unlike white which makes me look sick. However, knowing myself I will most likely gravitate toward something like a deep purple, slate grey or black.

Yesterday was a full on day! We had an appointment with Abi’s friend who is helping us design the invitations- which we need to get out ASAP considering that the wedding is the 13th August. After that we called in to buy some card-stock so that I can make up a few mock invitations to get the ball rolling.

Then we met with the (possible-probable) caterer and brainstormed ideas for a cocktail luncheon.

Then we visited the florist farm and talked flowers.

Fortunately I had cooked a meal so that tea was waiting for us wen we arrived home.

It’s all so much fun! I’d like to get married again… but this time do it *our way* rather than the over-the-top Italian job that it was back then. 🙂

The other parts of the advice are handy though! My dil’s mum was keen to get invloved in all the organising and stressing….major stressing at times!!!

We had a low key wedding reception in a church hall. Even if you go for more than that, of course it can be done. What an exciting time for you all. Something wonderful to celebrate and although some weeks will be frantic, the wedding is the small part – the marriage is what is most important. So glad you are focusing on that by it this way xxx

I guess one benefit of a short engagement (and I think there are many) is that you keep your focus on the important things while planning for the wedding. I have no doubt that you can pull it off, and that the wedding will be everything that you guys want. August isn’t too far away and you’ll be joining me in the mother-in-law ranks!!

Having a son get married is way less stressful I’d imagine…I have another friend who has a son getting married later this year, she said that she feels like all she has to do is shut up, pay up, show up and wear beige!!!

I agreed with the first 3 but I couldn’t ever stoop to beige 😉

I’m not sure that I’m keen for the girls wedding days, or the lead up to it….Zoe will have very definite ideas…
