 Now you gals know there are some things in a girl's life which are quite simply, No-Go Zones...and my cappuccino machine is one of them!

Is it too much to expect a little encouragement from friends..a little sympathy...a little understanding when one's coffee machine has been in the hospital for 22 days? I mean, what else am I supposed to drink?

:talktothehand: And as to the 'evils of caffeine'...I know not of which you speak.

What I do know is coffee contains chlorogenic acids and melanoids which trap so-called free radicals, or atomic particles which damage DNA, and are also powerful antioxidants, involved in the prevention of cellular damage.

Coffee is more efficient than fruit and vegetables in preventing the oxidation of DNA.

Coffee can help in the prevention and treatment of diseases and illnesses as varied as Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, liver disease, skin cancer, Parkinsons's disease and more.

Dear Amanda, does that suffice as to my defence?

Mrs BB has all the makings of a good lawyer, if ever I saw one!! She certainly lets nothing slip our attention, and presents the evidence in such a way that we find ourselves all nodding our head in agreement :cute:

Now Susan, how do you present your defense?? Huh? We'll give you a little time to put together your answer, only cause we love you so :waiting:

Eh! Lisa, who's joking?! An energetic grimace each and every morning will surely take it's toll.

Susan, your insides may shine like a new 10 cent piece, but your face, sweetie, your face! You'll be walking through the mall and women will whisper to one another, "There's a green smoothie drinker if ever I saw one.." (well, maybe I am joking about that bit ;) )

Amanda, I was waiting to see if Susan's next post was about how much she sold her coffee machine for on ebay. But then I noticed: she mentions bacon, she talks homemade bread, but...silence about the evils of caffeine.

I'm not sure all the green smoothies in the world will save your soul while you are still a slave to the evils of caffeine, Our Susan ;)

See Lisa, there's a little trick that I've learned. Some may call it manipulation but I call it the art of gentle persuasion.

A few years ago I made my family drink Spirulina. Oh I mixed it with some juice but if you've ever had spirulina you'll know that it seems to be the worst of all the green superfoods...it is just disgusting. But I made my family drink it. The just couldn't stomach it.

So, along with my perspective theme for 2009, it fits in. Seeing as how they can't drink Spirulina then a green smoothie is just delicious, in comparison!

Heheee, and they think they're clever because they got out of drinking Spirulina... Little do they know that there is method to my madness

Haha Amanda...considering that you weren't even at the infamous picnic that day, you've got a good memory...I had forgotten about that and it took me a second to put your comments together!!!

Hi Jacqui....lovely to hear from you...don't forget to keep in contact with me if you have the time....I'm not all that great at blogging...but now that I'm no longer homeschooling it helps me to keep in contact with the special friends that I've made via the net and from real life from that era of my life....hope all is well with you and your gang...and that you little one is thriving! Your life must be so busy with your little ones and your big ones getting married etc....exciting!

Susan...I think that I'll stick to my fruit smoothies....there is something wrong about drinking green and thick liquids....reminds me of the slime in my fishpond....

Jo, I do love your sense of humour...wrinkles! lol!!

Love to you all...

Have I never spoken to you of the evils of bacon before? Do you know not? Have you not heard...? I'll save it for another time then eh? Now you can just sit and wait in suspense lol. LOL. Well, I have about 150 ml whereas John and Miss A have a huge glass each. but the drink it willingly! Even the boys had a small glass each, so it can't be that bad. My boys aren't big on salads and Master J said that he'd rather drink a green smoothie than have to eat salad...go figure!

I'll post some piccies one day...
