In reply to <a href="https://simplysusan.com.au/my-kindle-touch/#comment-2417">Karen in Melbourne</a>.

Hi Karen
Thank you for your well wishes. Yes, I'm able to say :) But if you want more specific details I'll have to ask John as he did all the researching for best prices, availability and ordering.

He found there were only really two places to purchase the Touch here in Australia. One of them was quite a lot more expensive than the other. So we purchased through a fellow on ebay. It's all legitimate and he's allowed to sell them. Ebay allows him to keep his costs down. And shipping? The guy was amazingly fast! Anyway, let me know if you want his selling page and I'll get it for you.

I'll admit to loving my Kindle yet not experimenting on it too much. I set the font up and have been happy with it ever since! But you can change the fonts and background setting easily enough. It would have to be a first though - me NOT playing around on technology. ;)

It doesn't have a backlight. research has shown that they can interfere with the quality of sleep. Those LED lights trick the mind into thinking it is day time thereby reducing the quality of REM and deep sleep. So, just like a normal paper book, if you want to read in the dark you will need a lamp. This is a feature I really like.

For the first time in ages I sat down and read and read and read - for about 3 hours - wrapped up in a fiction book! (Don't you love the holidays?) Haven't read fiction for yonks. But it was a freebie from Amazon... I have been speechless at the amount of free ebooks that Amazon offers.

Only problem? Now I"m reading, I am not writing! LOL
