Excuse This House
Author: Unknown
Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there,
Ours boasts it quite openly,
The signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges are on the doors
I should apologize, I guess
For toys strew on the floor.
But I sat down with my child
And we played and laughed and read
And if the doorbell doesnt shine,
His eyes will shine instead.
For when at times Im forced to choose
The one job or the other,
Id like to cook and clean and scrub,
But first Ill be a mother.
I put this to share this on my AOL journal. I also put a Tag to your web site to give credit. I only used the poem. Thank you,
and God bless.

Hi Nettie,
Cool! But I just picked it up from somewhere too…so no credit to me is necessary. 🙂

THANK YOU!
So often I feel I have to make choices between housework and reading to or playing with my young children. I struggle to balance both, but if you come to my house, you’ll see my children usually come first!
