Those who know me well know that I’m always curious. Curious about anything and everything. One of my most frequently used words is the word, ‘why’. After that would be the words, where, when, what and how. 😉 So in keeping with my nature, I’m going to ask a few questions over the coming weeks so all those people who lurk (and lurking is okay. We all do it at some time and place) and those who don’t, can come forward and tell a little about themselves. Ready? Let’s start with an easy one.
When and where do you blog?
Tell of your own blogging habits- frequent, infrequent, irregular, frequently irregular, etc 😀 How long have you been blogging? Why do you blog? What do you blog about? If you don’t yet blog, tell why not. What’s your favourite aspect of blogging? What is your least favourite aspect of blogging? Leave a comment and provide your URL so others can visit.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
I blog at homeschoolblogger.. I like the security of not being attacked by spammers etc… but I know my mum doesn’t like how slow it is.
I’ve been blogging since May 2006, and I blog about every day or so, sometimes more, sometimes less. My blog is a collection of things my kids and I do, simple things like my 2yo sorting coloured paper clips, or my 15yo getting a new truck. We don’t have grand adventures, just little ones. I don’t have many deep theological thoughts on there.. but if I really feel the need to share.. it’s my space, I do what I want.
I’m not too concerned about comments, if people leave them it’s nice, but I don’t blog for comments.. I blog for my mum.. and for me. I do get a great kick out of finding out someone I haven’t seen or heard from in a long time keeps up with me by reading my blog. A fellow homeschooler here that I haven’t seen in a year, knew I was pregnant from reading my blog.
Sombra
I blog, frequently randomly (does that make sense to you?).
I blog mainly about my life and the stuff which is family safe (i have the in-laws subscribed to my feed!).
I have been blogging for about4.5yrs now, maybe longer but I think it all started with the pregnancy of my last.
Blogging is both good and bad, and I have met people similar to myself (I am not alone afterall) through blogging. I now also have some interesting content to read back on and from others also.
Blogging i guess is like a way of remembering the important and not so important parts of life. I blog because I enjoy it, though I do not do it nearly as much as I used to, and I definately restrict what I say because of possible in-law misunderstanding.
I blog about family, pets, excursions, and whatever takes my fancy.
I hope that makes sense, my brain is a little fried with the beginning of school (we are into our third week!).

Susan,
Thanks for visiting my blog, Homeschool Mandate. I read the poem your friend wrote about you. Perhaps we have several things in common: I obviously homeschool my two kids, I’m into healthy eating, and I LOVE Stryper! I’m also 30 something, been married twelve and a half years, and my husband and I are associate pastors at our church in Arizona. I have another blog that gives a better idea of me personally: vickystreehouse.blogspot.com

GREAT question Susan. I just popped over to tell you I installed the Coment Luv. Works great. Thanks. 🙂
Five Reasons I Blog
1. To bring glory to God: My blogs are my expression, a celebration of things I enjoy and believe will encourage others. God is the focus of my life and will therefore be reflected on my logs.
Blogging with this goal is obedience to Titus 2 . This passage instructs older women to teach others what is good. Blogging helps me do this with other homeschoolers and with my grown children. I can give homeschool advice, spiritual insights, recipes, and scrapbook pages to my married daughters or anyone else who stops by.
How neat is that? to be able to document (by date) thoughts and ideas for your children.
2. To grow spiritually: Journaling is an important part of my spiritual walk and part of my process of Bible study. I record insights, prayers, quotes, and things I discover. I used to write by hand on legal-size yellow notepads. Now I keep my journaling on my computer and blog. Mymain blog includes nuggets of my personal trials, struggles, growth, joys and triumphs in my relationship with God.
3. To learn new things: I write to learn. I record my personal reactions to matters by writing as I study topicsI learned about blogging by writing about it. I comprehend the material, record my findings, restructure the new information, and then share my understanding. When I began homeschooling I wrote down my goals and checklists that turned into my first book. I continued documenting our homeschool journey and the methods that worked for us and it turned into a 500-page book. I journaled my experiences studying Christianitys history, Hebrew roots, and the biblical holidays and it turned into a 600-page book. Recently Ive been writing to learn about Web 2.0.
4. To make friends: Blogging is more powerful than journaling because of the interaction aspect. Writing to encourage others is good, but relationship encouragement is better. Jesus is our example. He was an effective communicator, not just because of who He is and what He said, but because He listened.Your comments give me another viewpoint (good, bad, or indifferent) and allow me to develop a relationship with you. Blogging with other Christians is fellowship. When readers allow me to know what they are thinking and feeling, it helps me to serve them and others better.
5. To organize my thoughts and writing: When I write my thoughts, feelings, perspectives, rants, and opinions on legal-size yellow pads, its random and disorganized. Placing these thoughts in a blog requires instant categorization. I begin by writing randomly but drag, drop, move, cut and paste drafts to their proper home and sit back and feel good about itlike the feeling you get when house is sparkly clean.
I love all the new friends I have made blogging!

I’m a daily blogger but just started my blog about 2 months ago. I started blogging because all of my homeschooling blogging friends finally wore me down. LOL. My husband is just glad I have some place to pour out all my words. I don’t have family near me so they are all enjoying my frequent updates. I blog about my spiritual walk, homeschooling, books I love. Hm, what I don’t like about blogging is that I have to very carefuly regulate my time spend doig it. 😉
