I am Susan… you can learn more about me on here. It’s ridiculously difficult to choose on story or even one book from the OT to name as a favourite… but I guess I’ll have to try.
The life story of Joseph. I love seeing God’s sovereignty and His purpose unfold- despite mans efforts. Seeing how God used all the events, especially the not-so-pleasant ones in Joseph’s life, to bring about His plan for His glory gives me great strength and comfort when I’m going through my own not-so-pleasant times. Through Joseph’s life story I’ve learned that God is in control at all times, in all circumstances. He alone is worthy of my praise.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good”
~Genesis 50:20
Hi, I am Julie from Rockhampton, Qld. I am a wife to one, mother of four and grandmother of six.
It is always difficult to choose a favourite story or verse as the scriptures are so full of precious gems. Probably the Book of Ruth is one of favourites.
Hi Julie,
Glad you’re going to join me! You bought a paper copy of the book/guide, didn’t you? Could you pop over here and let Abba12 know where and how you bought your copy, please?

Hi, I am Bek. I married and mother of 3 boys. We are in Perth, WA. Picking a single story from the whole testament is hard. In Genesis my favourite is Isaac and Rebecca. I am a romantic at heart.
Hi Bek,
Oh, I’m so chuffed that you’re going to join us too! I know I will love some of your insights if and when you are able to share.
One story or book is always difficult to choose. 🙂
Hi, I’m Jenny, I am from the Southern Highlands of NSW. I am married with two teenage children.
A favourite OT story? What a very difficult question. I love the story of Abigail for many reasons. She trusted God in a difficult situation, served her husband well, but knew when it was right to put God first. I know David wasn’t all that wonderful as husband, material, but I love the thought of the king arriving on his charger to carry her away:) I guess I am a romantic at heart as well!
I’m DaughterofEve from Melbourne (those who need to know my irl name will know, and those who don’t, won’t!)
I could not give one favourite OT story, but what I do like is how each incident ties together immaculately to tell the big story. If I had to choose just one book of the OT though, I’d probably choose Genesis because it has the basis for the whole gospel right there.
Unhappily I am like Ganeida – I won’t be a regular participant with a book, but I will tag along and read your stuff and probably stick my big mouth in more than I should. 😉
Hi I am a Wife of one, and a Mum to two beautiful girls 4.5 years and 2.5years. We live in Sydney. I am a stay at home mum. I would love to have a clean house… but don’t. I am a training to be a breastfeeding counsellor, and am on the final although long stretch.
I’m a Noah fan…I believe it really points us to salvation in Christ, and shows so much about rapid burial and therefore a young earth. It is also helpful that Noah wasn’t perfect.
